Dr. Taehoon Hong is an underwood distinguished professor of Department of Architecture & Architectural Engineering at Yonsei University in South Korea. He is currently the editor of Building and Environment, Elsevier and the associate editor of renewable & sustainable energy reviews, Elsevier. He is also the associate editor of Journal of Management in Engineering, ASCE. Dr. Hong earned his B.S in 1999 and M.S. in 1999 from Yonsei University and. M.Eng. in 2003 and Ph.D. in 2005 from Purdue University.
Before joined Yonsei University, he was a faculty member at the University of Seoul. Since he has accessed more than USD20 million in research income. In 2021, Dr. Hong has been selected as the highly covered research leader program supported by the national research foundation of Korea. The research leader program supports high-reputed prestigious scholars in natural science and engineering fields with a world-class research capacity to enhance national prestige by promoting their long-term, sophisticated projects, and papers.
Awarding research funds totalling approximately USD 6.1 million for a total of nine years to the honored academic professor, it is the largest national research support program in engineering files. He is a recognized expert in environmental management and construction management. He has published over 220 SCI(E) journal papers. He has a h-index 36 (Scopus) and 45 (Google Scholar). He is an editorial board member of applied energy, Elsevier as well as Energy and Buildings, Elsevier.
